
CSET Agriculture Research & Development (CAGRED)
Is a social enterprise centre affiliated with CSET Group and undertaking research and development of the agriculture in Somalia. The centre’s aim is to increase production, productivity and nutritional quality of food through research, consultancy and training to the agricultural community (Agricultural Cooperatives and individual farmers). CAGRED’s arrange of research, advisory solutions, training programmes and extension services can influence transformational changes to individuals, professionals, and producers enabling them to improve productivity and generate a solid market income.
CSET Agriculture Research & Development carry out the following key operations:
- Trial seed testing and Development
- Facilitate capacity development of farmers on Good Agricultural Practice
- Operational analysis of farmer activities in the farm either the soil or the process of farming
- Agricultural process and technical advice
- Awareness raising on environment, focusing on natural resource management, strengthening ecosystem services.
- forestation campaign including the distribution of seedlings to vulnerable communities;
- Supporting and promotion of alternative fuel/energy sources for charcoal producers;
